A professional, non-profit organization, AHIP is dedicated to promoting and maintaining the highest possible standards for its members. By adhering to and abiding by AHIP's by-laws and strict code of ethics, our Hearing Healthcare Practitioners ensure professionalism in every aspect of their job. Our members serve hard-of hearing individuals by providing a host of services:

If you are a new or current hearing aid user, you have chosen to purchase a hearing aid to improve the quality of your life and to reduce the barriers you may face daily. Making a hearing aid purchase is a long-time commitment and our Hearing Healthcare Practitioners take this very seriously. Our mission statement is:

"The mission of the Association of Hearing Instrument Practitioners of Ontario is to represent and guide its members in the practice of testing hearing and selecting, fitting and dispensing hearing instruments and associated devices in the best interest of the hard of hearing."

By serving and promoting the welfare of our hard-of-hearing clients, we strive to:

• Improve methods of testing hearing, selecting, fitting, counseling, and dispensing of hearing instrument to improve the effectiveness of such instruments and their application.
  
  
• Ensure stringent formal education requirements as well as continuing education and internship programs in place are enforced as a requirement to practice in Ontario.
  
  
• Ensure that a strict code of ethics is in place and enforced.
  
  
• Promote and encourage an effective program of public education as to an awareness of hearing conservation and benefits of hearing instruments.
  
  
• Provide a unified voice for those engaged in the practice of testing hearing, selection, fitting, counseling, and dispensing of hearing instruments.
  
  
• To seek and maintain communication and co-operation with other hearing health care professions as well as programs of similar organizations.
